Quality improvement of clinical education by using daily check list of scientific board members on the basis of TQM

Introduction. The prime role of the medical teacher of the future will be to provide his or her students with learning opportunity and to direct them to the proper resources rather than to teach, so the more presence of scientific board members in clinical wards can lead us to this goal. At this study we answer to this question that How will the quality of clinical education improve with increase in the presence of scientific board members? Methods. This research was a cross sectional study in which population ;sampling included 50 members of attending with at least 2 years teaching experience. We prepared two check lists about before and after reform. At the first one we asked them their weekly programs and then, we recorded their activity each day after reform and reviewed it by educational deputy of hospital. There was a better quality and quantity in their activities after reform. Results. Before the reform, only 30% of the time of scientific board members was related to the university and after that it changed to 50%, before reform journal club was 15% and ground round 10% in clinical wards and after reform these changed to 87% & 60% respectively. Conclusion. This significant results show that the use of Total Quality Management and cooperation of scientific board members can increase their clinical activity and students can have a good education with more time with their attending that provides them with enough opportunity.
